Titans’ Top Defense Set to Take on Warhawks’ Top Offense

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The No. 23 nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team is traveling to Whitewater this Wednesday to take on the Warhawks at 7 p.m.

The Titans won over the Warhawks in their first meeting of the year at Kolf Sports Center by a score of 80-61.

Previewing the Titans

Oshkosh sits at 17-5 (10-1 WIAC) with a two-game lead over second-place UW-La Crosse. The Titans have held opponents to 60.1 points per game, with a 10.5 scoring margin, both leading the WIAC. Oshkosh also holds opponents to a 41.3 shooting percentage from the field, a 32.4 shooting percentage from three and 30.6 rebounds per game. Senior forward Levi Borchert has recorded the most rebounds in the league (239), averaging 10.9 rebounds per game. He also leads in both individual rebounding categories. Senior guard Hunter Plamann ranks third with 52 made threes and Borchert sits at fifth with 75 made free throws. Borchert leads the team with 328 points, shooting 52.1 percent from the field, 20.0 percent from three and 57.7 percent from the line. 

Previewing the Warhawks

Whitewater holds a 16-6 (7-4 WIAC) record, good for third place in the league. They pace the league in scoring, averaging 80.3 points per game. The Warhawks' team field goal percentage (50.1 percent) and three point percentage (38.3 percent) also lead the league. Their 172 season steals and 7.82 steals per game rank first. Junior guard Mile Barnstable leads with 96 made free throws and junior forward Trevon Chisolm ranks in the top-five with 129 made field goals. Sophomore guard Jameer Barker sits at second with 68 season assists and third with 31 steals. Chisolm leads the Warhawks with 332 points this season, shooting 54.9 percent from the field, 54.1 percent from three and 68.4 percent from the line.
