Titans to Return to Action in Ripon

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The No. 11 nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team will return to action on the road against the Ripon College (Wis.) Red Hawks after not competing since Dec. 3.

Previewing the Titans

The Titans have started the season with a 7-2 (2-0 WIAC) record, winning their last five games. Eric Peterson leads Oshkosh with 132 points, shooting 57.1 percent from the field, 30.0 percent from three and 69.1 percent from the line. He also leads with 21 assists and 17 steals. Levi Borchert is in second with 125 points, also leading the team with 101 rebounds (40 offensive). Borchert has recorded six double doubles so far this season, most in the WIAC. He also leads the conference in total, offensive, defensive and rebounds per game (11.2). Peterson and Jonah Rindfleisch have each recorded six blocks on the season.

Previewing the Red Hawks

The Red Hawks have started with a 5-4 (2-1 MWC) record, winning their last two games. Jaylen Mahone leads Ripon with 129 points, shooting 48.0 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from three and 81.3 percent from the line, scoring 14.3 points per game. David DeValk has recorded a team-leading 52 rebounds (13 offensive) and eight blocks. Ryan Steffes leads the Red Hawks with 14 assists and Luke Meinholz ranks second in the Midwest Conference with 20 steals.

National Rankings

Oshkosh is currently ranked 11th in the nation by D3hoops.com. The only other WIAC school in the national rankings is UW-La Crosse, who is ranked seventh with a 9-2 (2-0 WIAC) record.  

Watching Records

Borchert is currently sitting at 976 career points. He has averaged 13.9 points per game this season, scoring a season-high 20 points against Lawrence University (Wis.) at home on Nov. 8th. If he reaches 1,000 points this season, he will become the 37th player in program history to reach the milestone, and the first since Adam Fravert in 2020.
