Titans Cruise Past Blue Devils

OSHKOSH, Wis.- Levi Borchert led the Titans with 19 points and 14 rebounds in Saturday night's 92-69 win over UW-Stout in Kolf Sports Center. Oshkosh has now won five games in a row dating back to a 63-57 win over Nebraska Wesleyan University on Nov. 19th

First Half Summary

The Blue Devils jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead before the Titans scored their first points. Stout held onto the lead until the end of the ninth minute, before losing it for the rest of the game. The Titans finished taking the lead with an 8-0 run, with Quinn Steckbauer scoring four of the points. Aidan Shore tied the game back up at 21 with 10:45 remaining in the half, before Oshkosh outscored Stout by ten points the rest of the way. The score sat at 47-39 at halftime.

First Half Leaders

Oshkosh shot 52.8 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from three and 62.5 percent from the line in the first half. Levi Borchert led with 12 points, going six-of-nine from the field, also recording eight rebounds (one offensive). Cole Booth and Steckbauer each scored 10 points, and Booth recorded three assists.

Stout shot 41.0 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from three and 75.0 percent from the line. Shore scored 10 points, going four-of-seven from the field and two-of-two from the line. Shore and Carson Moe each recorded four rebounds. 

Second Half Summary

Booth kicked off scoring with a jump shot thirty seconds into the second half. Oshkosh scored 13 more points before Cory Hoglund broke the run with jump shot after four-and-a-half minutes of play, making the score 41-62. Neither team scored more than four points in a row in the last 15 minutes of play, but the Titans would eventually build up to a 92-69 lead by the time the final buzzer sounded.

Full Game Leaders

Oshkosh finished the game shooting 50.7 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from three and 71.4 percent from three. After going nine-of-15 from the field and one-of-three from the line for 19 total points and 14 rebounds (six offensive), Borchert led the Titans in both categories. It was the 29th double-double of his career. Five more Titans scored double-digit points and Booth finished the game with four assists. With the win, Oshkosh's overall record increased to 7-2, 2-0 in the WIAC and 4-0 at home.

Stout shot 43.5 percent from the field, 30.0 percent from three and 69.2 percent from the line. Brody Fox led the Blue Devils with 17 points, going six-of-18 from the field, one-of-three from three and four-of-six from the line. Three other Blue Devils scored double-digit points. Shore led with seven rebounds (two offensive). Stout fell to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the WIAC on Saturday.

Looking Forward

The Titans return to play on Dec. 17 at Ripon College (Wis.) at 3 p.m. The Red Hawks have started the season 3-4, 0-1 Midwest Conference.

Watching Records

Borchert got closer to 1,000 points on Saturday, moving up to 976. He has scored 13.56 points per game so far this year.
