Titans to Head to Stevens Point

OSHKOSH, Wis.—Hitting the road for the first time in two weeks, the UW-Oshkosh Titans travel to the UW-Stevens Point Pointers for a conference battle on Nov. 5. The Titans (4-4, 2-3 WIAC) will face off against the Pointers (1-7, 0-5 WIAC) at 1 p.m. in Stevens Point, Wis. 

The Titans will see a familiar face in the head coach of the Pointers in Luke Venne. Venne spent 19 yards with the Titans and the last six seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Titans. 

Oshkosh Numbers

The Titans have recorded 2,498 yards of total offense this season, with 1,671 yards in the air. The Titans averaged 356.9 yards of offense per game, while the Titans defense holds their opponents to 330.3 yards. The Titans defense has recorded 13 sacks this season alongside seven interceptions.

Kobe Berghammer leads the Titans passing yards, with 247.9 yards per game. Berghammer has taken the ball into the endzone eight times, leading the team in rushing yards with 329 (41.1 per game). Other top rushers include Peter MacCudden with 255 yards (31.9 yards per game) and DJ Stewart with 183 yards (22.9 yards per game). 

A frequent target of Berghammer's passes, Trae Tetzlaff leads the team in receptions with 671 total yards (83.9 yards per game) and six touchdowns. Tony Steger adds six touchdown receptions to his season resume, with 58.1 yards per game on 38 receptions. Terrell Carey averages 44.3 yards per game, while Stewart (17 yards per game) and Clayton Schwalbe (14.6 yards per game) all have more than 100 receiving yards this season. 

Leading the defense charge for the Titans, Tory Jandrin has 78 tackles this season, an average of 9.8 per game. Carson Raddatz, the team leader against UW-La Crosse, adds 7.5 tackles per game. Bryce Edwards and Kyle Scharenbroch are credited with 5.6 and 5.1 tackles per game respectively and have more than 40 tackles this season. 

Brandon Kolgen leads the Titans in sacks with 2.5 sacks this season (11 total yards). Jacob Mandella, Edwards, and Jhe'veon St. Julien are credited with a minimum of 1.5 sacks this season. Kolgen leads the team in most tackles-for-loss (TFL) at 8.5 tackles, with Edwards leads the most yardage lost at 28 combined yards. 

Conference Leaders 

The Titans defense leads the league in fewest points allowed by game at 18.3 points for their opponents. The Titans are the second-best offense in the league for passing yards, averaging 251.6 yards per game. The Titans offense are the second in offensive efficiency and have the third best defense in terms of passing. The Titans have the fewest sacks against (9). 

Berghammer is No. 9 in the WIAC for rushing yards, with MacCudden joining him in the top-15. Berghammer is the top passer in the league, averaging 247.9 yards per game and an efficiency of 147.6. Tetzlaff leads the league in receiving yards, with Steger landing in the top-8. 

Stewart is one of three return specialists to return a kickoff for a touchdown in the league. 

Berghammer is No. 2 in the WIAC for total offense (289 yards per game), while Stewart and Tetzlaff land in the top-8 for all-purpose yards. 

On the defensive side of the ball, Jandrin leads the WIAC in tackles (35 solo, 43 assists) and is joined in the top-10 by Raddatz. Kolgen is No. 3 in the WIAC for TFL and Edwards sits at No. 9 for TFL. Jared Saad sits at No. 5 in pass breakups (6 PBU, 1 INT) with fellow Titan Scharenbroch sitting at No. 10 with 6 PBU. 

Stevens Point at a Glance 

Tysen White is No. 8 in the WIAC for tackles with 54 this season and 6.8 per game. Carter Unger is No. 1 in the WIAC for punting, averaging 42 yards per punt. Brycen Cashin is No. 2 in the league for all-purpose yards, averaging 129.6 yards per game. Cashin is No. 11 in the league for rushing yards with 36.4 yards per game. 

The Pointers are coming off a record game as freshman Miles Gallagher recorded the longest touchdown reception in program history. 

The Pointers have averaged 14.75 points per game this season, as their opponents have averaged 38.88 points per game. The Pointers average 1,913 yards of offense per game with 16 touchdowns. 

Cashin leads the team in rushing yards, followed by Reed Smith (32 yards per game) and Trey Schroeder (30.13 yards per game). Schroeder leads the team in passing yards with 92 per game, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Gallagher is the frequent target of Schroeder with six receptions and 26.57 yards per game. Other targets of Schroeder include Devin Baldridge (17.63 yards/game, three touchdowns), DJ Jacob (13 yards/game), and Jeffery Williams (12.63 yards/game) who have most than 100 receiving yards this season. 

White leads the team on the defensive side in tackles, while Carter Borchardt has six TFLs and one sack on the season. White had recorded two interceptions and two PBUs for the Pointers defense. 

National Scene  

Senior defensive lineman Kolgen earned national recognition following his career-high performance against No. 7 UW-La Crosse. Kolgen recorded a career-high eight tackles and was named to the D3football.com team of the week

The Titans drop out of the top-25 poll from D3football but are receiving votes in this week's poll.
