No. 24 Titans Set for Homecoming Battle Against Stout

OSHKOSH, Wis. –After a two-game road swing, the No. 24 UW-Oshkosh Titans (3-3, 1-2 WIAC) return home for a homecoming battle against the visiting Blue Devils of UW-Stout (4-2, 2-1 WIAC). Kickoff is set for 1:35 p.m. at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. 

Oshkosh leads the all-time series 42-22-1 since 1947. Oshkosh has bested the Blue Devils in the past 11 games.

The Titans posted a 43-36 win over the Blue Devils last season at Stout. Kobe Berghammer connected with Tony Steger on a go-ahead 68-yard touchdown with 14 seconds remaining in the game for the Titans victory. 

Previewing the Titans 

After back-to-back road meetings with top-25 opponents, the Titans return to J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium for homecoming. The Titans are averaging 357.8 yards per game, while holding their opponents to 323.3 yards. Finding strength in the air, the Titans are in the top-3 in the conference for passing yards (1,450 total, averaging 241.7 per game). 

The Titans have outscored their opponents 176 to 73 and averaged 29.3 points per game. The Titans defense has been a force this season, averaging 73 tackles per game.

Oshkosh Numbers 

Commanding the Titans offense, Berghammer leads the team with 1,420 passing yards (236.7). Berghammer leads the team in rushing yards, averaging 38 per game (228 yards this season). Berghammer has six rushing touchdowns, pairing them with 14 touchdown passes. 

Rushing the ball for the Titans, Peter MacCudden averages 35 yards per game, while DJ Stewart (25.8 yards/game) and Nate Smith (15 yards/game) averaged double digit rushes for the Titans. 

Steger and Trae Tetzlaff are frequent targets of Berghammer, leading the team in yards per reception. Steger averages 5.2 yards per reception, 58.2 yards per game, and 349 yards this season. Tetzlaff averages 3.3 yards per reception, 73 yards per game, and 438 yards this season. The duo has combined for eight touchdown receptions. 

Nolan Mobley takes over kicking duties for the Titans, making 5-of-8 field goals and 16-of-18 extra points. 

Tory Jandrin leads the league in tackles (57 total) and tackles per game (9.5). Jandrin has recorded 2.5 tackles-for-loss, with one fumble recovery. Carson Raddatz (40 tackles, 6.7 per game), Kyle Scharenbroch (33 tackles, 5.5 per game), and Bryce Edwards (31 tackles, 5.2 per game) help lead the Titan defense. 

Brandon Klogen leads the team with 2.5 sacks for 11 yards, while Edwards leads the team in tackles-for-loss at 5.5 tackles. Seven different Titans have recorded interceptions this season. 

Surveying Stout 

The Blue Devils of Stout have posted decisive conference victories of UW-Eau Claire (73-29) and UW-Stevens Point (55-0). The lone conference loss comes at the hands of No. 9 UW-La Crosse (42-21). 

In their last outing, the Blue Devils held Stevens Point to 131 yards of offense, as they combined for 594 offense yards of their own.

Stout Numbers 

Stout has averaged 40.5 points per game, while holding their opponents to 21.5. On the offensive side of the ball, Blue Devils are averaging 470 yards per game, while holding their opponents to 348.3 yards. 

Carter Fonger leads the Blue Devils in rushing yards, with an average of 17.5 yards per attempt. Fonger leads the team in total rushing yards (245) and has five rushing touchdowns. 

Taking the reins at quarterback, Sean Borgerding is averaging 222.5 yards in the air per game, with 14 touchdowns this season. Borgerding has a league-leading seven interceptions thrown. 

Levy Hamer, Arthur Cox, Will Knutson, Parker Fossum, and Patrick Corcoran have been on the receiving end of Borgerding's throws this season. Hamer leads the team in reception yards (409), average per reception (18.59), and average receiving yards per game (68.17). 

Cannon Griner leads the Blue Devils defense, with 47 tackles this season. Mack Klafter adds 33 tackles with Nick Arguedas and Scott Gustafson had 29 tackles this season. Klafter leads teh team in tackles for a loss with 4.5 tackles for 18 yards lost.
