Former Titan Wara Joins Green Bay Blizzard

Nate Wara, the winningest quarterback in UW-Oshkosh history, signed with the Green Bay Blizzard indoor football team on Thursday (Dec. 19).

Wara started every game for the Titans from 2009-12, winning 28 contests including three playoff victories. He was named the 2012 NCAA Division III Offensive Player of the Year after totaling 3,311 yards and 30 touchdowns passing. Wara also ran for 740 yards and 10 scores.

Wara's career totals feature 11,202 yards and 80 touchdowns passing, along with 2,321 yards and 23 touchdowns rushing. Last April, the Oshkosh North High School graduate had a pro-day style workout for the Green Bay Packers.

"I've been given a great opportunity," Wara said. "I look forward to what I can do to help make this football team the best that it can be."

2014 Blizzard Schedule

"We are excited to have Nate as part of the team," said head coach Chad Baldwin. "He is a great athlete, but above all, he has great character. We think that he will be an asset not only to the team but the community as well."

The Blizzard have posted a winning record in eight of the last nine seasons.
