Wara Runs Drills For Green Bay Packers Scouts

Quarterback Nate Wara (Sr. • Oshkosh) worked out for Green Bay Packers scouts at the Oshkosh YMCA on Wednesday (April 10).

Wara, the 2012 NCAA Division III Offensive Player of the Year, was joined by cornerback Tim Filter (Sr. • New Berlin) and UW-Stevens Point receiver Theo Maglio. Former Titans Eric Allen, Garrie Fox and Juston Wara also participated.

The group ran through NFL combine drills, including the 40-yard dash, shuttle run, three-cone drill, broad jump and vertical jump. Wara then threw a variety of passes to his receivers.

Packers Director of Pro Personnel Eliot Wolf was in attendance, along with three assistants.

Wara earned All-America and WIAC Player of the Year honors after his outstanding 2012 season. He totaled 3,311 yards and 30 touchdowns passing, along with 740 yards and 10 scores rushing. Completing 65 percent of his passes, Wara threw just five interceptions in 366 attempts.

Wara's 4,051 yards were the 13th-highest total in NCAA Division III history. His leadership guided the Titans to a 13-1 record and the fourth round of the playoffs.
