Titans Picked To Finish Fourth In WIAC

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh baseball team will make its annual return to the diamond after being picked to finish fourth in the WIAC for the 2024 season.

Head coach Kevin Tomasiewicz will lead the Titans (25-15, 15-9 WIAC) for the 11th season this spring, and is returning 28 letterwinners from last season, including 2023 All-WIAC First Team members Connor Brinkman (Jr. • New London), Jake Surane (Sr. • Lincolnshire, Ill.) and LJ Waco (Sr. • Cary, Ill.). Nicholas Shiu (Jr. • Gurnee, Ill.) and Mason Kirchberg (Jr. • DeForest) each earned Honorable Mention status last year and will also return to the field for Oshkosh. Other notable returners include Brenden Max (So. • Libertyville, Ill.) and Connor Walters (So. • Libertyville, Ill.)

UW-La Crosse (36-13, 18-6) is the preseason favorite to win the WIAC title, followed by UW-Stevens Point (33-14, 19-5) and UW-Whitewater (30-13, 15-9). After the Titans, UW-Stout (15-18, 7-17), UW-Platteville (10-25, 7-17) and UW-Eau Claire (12-27, 3-21) round out the remaining half of the projected finishes.

UW-Oshkosh will begin its season in Milwaukee for a doubleheader at the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Feb. 24 and play 13 more games before the 24-game conference play begins on March 29 against UW-Eau Claire. Both of the Titans' doubleheaders against UW-Stevens Point will be played at Tiedemann Field on Wednesdays (Apr. 10, 17) and they will take on Ripon College on the road for their final weekday game of the regular season on April 18. After wrapping up the regular season at UW-Platteville on May 4, the top-four teams in the WIAC standings will advance to the double-elimination WIAC Tournament that will be held May 9-11 at the No. 1 seed. The winner of the tournament receives the conference's automatic NCAA bid.
