BLOOMINGTON, Minn.- Shortstop Matt Scherrman and starting pitcher LJ Waco represented UW-Oshkosh on D3baseball.com All-Region Nine First Team on Monday. This is the first time either have made an appearance on a D3baseball All-Region list.

Scherrman and Waco, with 40 and eight starts respectively, led the Titans to a 25-15 (15-9 WIAC) record, and a third-place finish in the WIAC Tournament.

Scherrman, from Wheaton, Ill., led the conference with five sacrifice flies and was second in hits (67), RBI (54) and doubles (17). His 5-5 batting performance against UW-Eau Claire on April 8 with 3 RBI was a career-best. At the close of the season, he earned his second All-WIAC First Team nod to go with an All-WIAC Honorable Mention in the 2021 season.

A Cary, Ill. native, Waco struck out a league-leading 76 batters with a third-place earned run average of 2.21, a metric he led the WIAC in for much of the season. He was also in the top-three in wins (six), home runs allowed (three), walks (13) and runs allowed (19). On March 11, he struck out a career-best 13 batters in a neutral site win over DePauw. He earned his first All-WIAC honor with a First Team placement.
