Orth Named To National Baseball Team Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh sophomore pitcher Harry Orth was selected to the 16-member D3baseball.com Team of the Week for games played April 26-May 2.

Orth becomes the first Titan to receive the national recognition since pitcher Chris Atwood during the 2019 (March 25-31) season.

Other UW-Oshkosh players honored since D3baseball.com debuted its Team of the Week selections in 2012 were outfielder Johnny Eagan in 2016 (April 4-10), third baseman Tyler Kozlowski and pitcher Colan Treml in 2017 (April 17-23), and designated hitter Taylor Grimm in 2018 (March 5-11).

Orth recorded a save during each of his two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference appearances against UW-Platteville. Orth pitched a total of four innings and held the Pioneers scoreless. He allowed just one hit and struck out four batters while inducing a pair of infield double plays.

During UW-Oshkosh's 11-3 road victory over UW-Platteville on April 28, Orth pitched three scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit while striking out three batters. Orth faced only eight batters as he benefited from a ninth-inning double play.

In the Titans' 12-2 home win over the Pioneers on May 1, Orth pitched one scoreless inning. He entered the game with two runners on base in the seventh inning and retired the two batters he faced through a strikeout and an inning-ending double play. UW-Oshkosh then scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game by the 10-run rule.

UW-Oshkosh (18-11, 15-7 WIAC) plays a WIAC doubleheader at UW-Stevens Point (23-8, 18-4) on Friday (May 7).
