Titans Race At Lawrence, Augustana, La Crosse, Win Seven Events

The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team raced at Lawrence University, Augustana College (Ill.) and UW-La Crosse on Friday and Saturday (April 19-20), finishing the weekend with seven event wins across the three meets.

The Titans took second in the five team field at Lawrence with 164 points, 20th at Augustana with eight points and 10th with 18 points in the 16 scoring team field in La Crosse.

Julia Strasser (Jr. • South Milwaukee), Ella Galaszewski (So. • West Allis) and Katelyn Puetz (Jr. • Waterford) took second, third and fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in Appleton with times of 12:52.53, 12:58.72 and 13:01.39 respectively.

In the 1,500-meter run, Allison Van Der Wegen (Fr. • Kaukauna) finished sixth at 5:23.83 and Paige Hagner (So. • Mukwonago) took seventh in 5:25.19.

Olivia Stenzel (So. • Sturgeon Bay) won the 400-meter dash in 1:01.11 as the only Titan on the event, while Ella Ahlstrand (Fr. • Plymouth) and Andrea Glaz (Jr. • Oak Creek) claimed the top two spots in the 100-meter dash with a 12.60-second and 12.71-second finish each.

Stenzel collected her second event win at Lawrence during the 800-meter run as she raced to a time of 2:23.62. Adriana Garcia (Fr. • Green Bay) placed third on the event in 2:26.60.

Jayda Dobeck (Jr. • Green Bay) won the 400-meter hurdles at 1:12.00, followed in second by Drue Polka (Jr. • Round Lake Beach, Ill.) at 1:14.55.

Vanessa Jenneman (Sr. • Bloomer) took fourth in the 200-meter dash in 29.08 seconds and Amara Seefeldt-Smalls (Fr. • Appleton) finished seventh in 29.75 seconds.

In the 5,000-meter run; Ella Kojis (So. • Waukesha), MacKenzie Dix (So. • Green Bay), Zoe Watson (Fr. • Kiel) and Josie Makurat (So. • Fairfax, Va.) all placed at 19:32.42, 19:36.65, 19:58.63 and 20:20.40 respectively.

Alexa Gordee (Fr. • Appleton) grabbed second on the long jump and triple jumps with best distances of 4.99 and 10.52 meters. Jenneman claimed seventh on the long jump at 4.61 meters while Haley Kanitz (So. • Menomonee Falls) took third on the triple jump with a 10.41-meter skip.

Brenna Masloroff (Sr. • Franklin) led Oshkosh on the discus throw with a best throw of 38.58 meters for second place. Brooklyn Manz (Fr. • Kiel) threw 36.13 meters for fifth and Abi Masloroff (Fr. • Franklin) took eighth at 34.94 meters.

A 12.75 meter throw won Brenna Masloroff the shot put title and Manz took fifth with an 11.54-meter cast.

Abi Masloroff then won the hammer throw with a 56.04-meter mark, followed in the top three by Bobbi Blahnik (So. • Algoma) at 47.96 meters and her older sister Brenna at 47.01 meters.

At Augustana, Megan Hunt (Jr. • Lemont, Ill.) accumulated 4,251 points for second in the heptathlon.

Amelia Lehman (Jr. • Oshkosh) won the 1,500-meter run in La Crosse at 4:36.53. Cyna Madigan (Jr. • Rosendale) took third in 4:42.76 and Libby Geisness (Sr. • Waukesha) finished eighth in 4:44.81.

The Titans return to the track on Wednesday (April 24) for the four day Drake University Relays. They will also compete at the UW-Eau Claire Dick & Mary Johnson Invitational on Saturday (April 27).
