Titans Place Second At WIAC Championship, Three Win Events

WHITEWATER, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field accumulated a total of 94 points in the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's) and won two events on Saturday (Feb. 24) to finish in second place.

UW-La Crosse scored 281.5 points to claim the team title and UW-Eau Claire followed the Titans in third place with 90 points. UW-Stout (73), UW-Whitewater (62), UW-Stevens Point (32.5), UW-Platteville (19) and UW-River Falls (11) took the remaining positions.

Megan Hunt (Jr. • Lemont, Ill.) scored 3,472 points in the heptathlon, winning the event and breaking Taylor Sherry's program record of 3,466 points from the 2015 season.

Brenna Masloroff (Sr. • Franklin) threw 18.08 meters for first place in the 20-lb. weight throw.

Cyna Madigan (Jr. • Rosendale) won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.45 and Libby Geisness (Sr. • Waukesha) grabbed sixth in 2:17.58.

After taking second in the 5,000-meter run on Friday, Amelia Lehman (Jr. • Oshkosh) ran a 9:58.07 in the 3,000-meter run on Saturday afternoon for her second second-place finish of the weekend.

The 4x400-meter relay squad made up of Julia Steger (Fr. • Kewaskum), Olivia Stenzel (So. • Sturgeon Bay), Madigan and LaVoi took second in the event with a time of 3:57.03.

After qualifying through the preliminary rounds of the 60-meter dash, Andrea Glaz (Jr. • Oak Creek) and Ella Ahlstrand (Fr. • Plymouth) took sixth and seventh with times of 7.88 seconds each.

Alexa Gordee (Fr. • Appleton) finished the triple jump with a best mark of 10.96 meters for eighth place.

The Titans will head to UW-La Crosse to compete in the Eagles' Final Qualifier next Saturday (Mar. 2) at 1 p.m.
