Titans Collect Six Event Wins At UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team won six events and totaled 19 top-three finishes on its way to a second-place finish at the UW-Whitewater Karl Schlender Invitational with 196 points on Saturday (Jan. 20).

The Titans won six events, placed second in an additional six and collected seven third place finishes. UW-Whitewater won the meet with 218 total points.

Andrea Glaz (Jr. • Oak Creek) won the 60-meter dash in a team season-best 7.93 seconds and was joined in the top-three by Ella Ahlstrand (Fr. • Plymouth) in third with a time of 8.09 seconds.

Maddy LaVoi (Fr. • Ankeny, Iowa) led the Titans in the 400-meter dash with a first-place time of 1:01.11. Julia Steger (Fr. • Kewauskum) and Olivia Stenzel (So. • Sturgeon Bay) followed in second and third with times of 1:01.11 and 1:02.39.

In the 600-meter run, Adriana Garcia (Fr. • Green Bay) placed second with a 1:43.79 finish while Zoe Watson (Fr. • Kiel) placed third in the 800-meter run in 2:34.79.

Allison Van Der Wegen (Fr. • Kaukauna) set a personal record of 5:44.43 in the mile run for third place.

UW-Oshkosh was the only program to race in the 5,000-meter run and Gwen Feitl (So. • Wheaton, Ill.) won in 19:34.65, joined by Jamie Catania (So. • Fond du Lac) with a 19:40.75 finish.

The distance medley relay team that included Julia Strasser (Jr. • South Milwaukee), Madison Bertram(Jr. • Winnebago, Ill.), Stenzel and MacKenzie Dix (So. • Green Bay) raced 13:46.22 to a second-place spot.

In the vertical jumps, Aimee Footit (So. • Oshkosh) took second in the high jump with a 1.48-meter mark and Haley Kanitz (So. • Menomonee Falls) cleared the bar in the pole vault at 3.14 meters.

Alexa Gordee (Fr. • Appleton) won both the long and triple jumps with distances of 5.11 meters and 10.68 meters, respectively. Steger joined Gordee in third in the long jump (4.65 meters) and Kanitz placed third in the triple jump (10.43 meters)

Brenna Masloroff (Sr. • Franklin) won the 20-lb. weight throw with a best cast of 16.76 meters and took third with a 12.75-meter throw in the shot put.

The Titans return to action at home next Saturday (Jan. 27) for the David Weidemann Alumni & Friends Invitational.
