Titans Open Outdoor Season at Pioneer Opener and WashU Distance Carnival
PLATTEVILLE, Wis.- In the opening weekend of the outdoor season, the UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team competed at unscored the UW-Platteville Pioneer Opener and Washington University in St. Louis Distance Carnival on Saturday (April 1).
Pioneer Opener Track Results
Freshman Gwen Feitl took fifth in the 1,500-meter run, finishing the event in 5:20.42. Freshman Jamie Catania and senior Tricia Cich also finished in the top-20, running times of 5:25.30 and 5:28.72, respectively.
In the 400-meter dash, senior Erika Mullen ran a 1:04.22 for seventh place.
Junior Meygan Benzing finished the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:10.76, taking sixth place.
Pioneer Opener Field Results
Junior Brenna Masloroff threw for a best 47.12 meters in the hammer throw, earning first place, followed in fourth by sophomore Bobbi Blahnik (43.70 meters). Senior Katie Fruth finished 11th with a cast of 37.37 meters.
In the discus throw, Masloroff led the Titans with a fourth place finish of 36.11 meters. Senior Micky Barrette followed in fifth with a best throw of 36.00 meters.
Masloroff earned her third top-eight finish in the shot put with a third place, 12.91-meter throw. Senior Katie Fruth finished in sixth with a cast of 11.89 meters.

WashU Distance Carnival Track Results
In the 800-meter run, sophomore Cyna Madigan finished second in 2:12.48 and senior Libby Geisness finished seventh in 2:17.25.
Sophomore Amelia Lehman placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run (4:36.46). Freshman Josie Makurat also ran the race, finishing 12th with a time of 4:56.67

The Titans will return to action on Friday April 7 at the UW-La Crosse Ashton May Invitational. The meet is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
