Titans Win Three Events, Place Second At "Squig" Converse Invitational

Nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh totaled 89 points to finish second among 10 women's track & field programs at the UW-Whitewater "Squig" Converse Invitational Saturday (Jan. 29) in Whitewater.

UW-La Crosse captured the team title with 257 points. Second-place UW-Oshkosh was followed by third-place UW-Stevens Point with 67 points, fourth-place St. Norbert College with 65.5 and fifth-place Elmhurst College (Ill.) with 40. UW-Oshkosh entered the meet ranked second in the NCAA Division III Indoor Rating Index calculated by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

UW-Oshkosh owned the winner in three events as Riley Kindt produced a time of 9.04 seconds among 19 contestants in the 60-meter hurdles, Alexandria Demco a performance of 59.03 seconds among 27 participants in the 400-meter run and Hannah Lohrenz an effort of 2:16.45 among 31 entrants in the 800-meter run. Lohrenz now ranks 11th nationally in her event, Demco 15th and Kindt 16th.

Kindt also finished fifth in the high jump with a leap of 4-10 1/4.

UW-Oshkosh received a pair of second-place results on the measurements of 52-0 in the 20-pound weight throw from Brenna Masloroff and 41-5 3/4 in the shot put from Katie Fruth. The Titans also had Skyler Genz finish third and Allie Marineau fourth in the 20-pound weight throw with distances of 49-2 1/2 and 48-11, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh picked up three scoring grades in the 60-meter dash as Rachel Castelli placed fourth with a time of 8.13 seconds, Kyra Huber fifth in 8.14 and Andrea Glaz eighth in 8.22. Castelli also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.17 seconds.

Finishing sixth for UW-Oshkosh were Vanessa Jenneman in the long jump with a measurement of 16-11 1/2 and Lauren Urban in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:07.29.

The Titans' seventh-place finishers were Amelia Lehman in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10.38.74, Cara Volz in the triple jump with a distance of 33-6 3/4 and Emma Warr in the pole vault with a height of 10-6 1/4.

UW-Oshkosh's eighth-place finishes were completed by the throw of 38-5 in the shot put from Michaela Barrette and time of 5:41.52 in the mile run from Meygan Benzing.

The Titans' 1,600-meter relay team of Demco, Lohrenz, Libby Geisness and Cyna Madigan finished fourth with a time of 4:19.68.

UW-Oshkosh will compete at the Ripon College Red Hawk Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 5).
