Titans Total 33 Top-Five Finishes In Early Bird Invitational Victory

UW-Oshkosh won seven events, including a pair by Brenna Masloroff, and scored 237.5 points to easily capture first place in its own Early Bird Women's Track & Field Invitational on Saturday (Dec. 11) in Kolf Sports Center.

Northern Michigan University finished second to UW-Oshkosh in the five-team meet with 120 points while UW-Parkside placed third with 66, Ripon College fourth with 56.5 and Concordia University Wisconsin fifth with 43.

In addition to its seven first-place performances, UW-Oshkosh recorded 26 other top-five finishes. The Titans owned the top-five participants in both the mile run and 20-pound weight throw and the top-three contestants in both the 800-meter run and shot put.

Masloroff earned her victories with measurements of 52-10 in the 20-pound weight throw and 43-5 in the shot put.

UW-Oshkosh took the next four listings in the 20-pound weight throw as Katie Fruth finished second with a distance of 48-2 1/2, Allie Marineau third at 47-1 1/4, Michaela Barrette fourth at 46-5 1/4 and Elise Deaver fifth at 46-1 1/4.

Titans placing behind Masloroff in the shot put were Fruth with a second-place throw of 42-3 1/4 and Bobbi Blahnik with a third-place toss of 40-0.

UW-Oshkosh's Cyna Madigan won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.27 while Titans Alexandria Demco finished second in 2:13.29 and Libby Geisness third in 2:14.31.

Demco, Geisness and Madigan also teamed with teammate Hannah Lohrenz for a winning time of 4:03.36 in the 1,600-meter relay.

The Titans swept the top-five mentions in the mile run as Amelia Lehman finished first with a time of 5:59.72, Logan Krogwold second in 6:00.32, Julia Strasser third in 6:02.50, Madison Bertram fourth in 6:11.34 and Olivia Schwarm fifth in 6:32.76. Lehman also placed second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:55.92.

Other event winners for UW-Oshkosh were Lohrenz in the 3,000- and Lauren Urban in the 5,000-meter runs. Lohrenz cross the finish line in 10:04.02 and Urban in 19:56.54.

Tricia Cich and Vanessa Jenneman rounded out the Titans' second-place listings with their performances of 20:28.09 in the 5,000-meter run and 17-4 1/4 in the long jump, respectively.

Adding to UW-Oshkosh's third-place recordings were Erika Mullen and Emma Warr. Mullen traveled to a time of 1:05.61 in the 400-meter run while Warr leaped to a height of 10-7 1/2 in the pole vault.

Titan Elizabeth Hren contributed a pair of fourth-place finishes with her sprints of 8.11 seconds in the 60- and 26.48 seconds in the 200-meter dashes.

Also finishing fourth for UW-Oshkosh were Meygan Benzing in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:29.93, Anna Bubolz with a mark of 17-0 in the long jump, Taylor Christensen in the pole vault with a height of 9-7 3/4 and Megan Hunt in the high jump with a measurement of 4-7 1/2.

UW-Oshkosh's Rachel Castelli supplied two fifth-place efforts with her time of 26.56 seconds in the 200-meter dash and distance of 16-9 1/4 in the long jump.

Titan Andrea Glaz ranked fifth among the 60-meter dash competitors with her time of 8.17 seconds. 

UW-Oshkosh will host its annual Alumni/Intrasquad Meet on Jan. 15 in Kolf Sports Center before competing at the Ripon College Red Hawk Opener on Jan. 22.
