Titans’ Season Debut Features Five Event Victories

Riley Kindt won two events and Libby Geisness, Hannah Lohrenz and Amanda Starzynski one apiece as the UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team kicked off its 2021-22 season at the Ripon College Winter Open on Saturday (Dec. 4).

The non-scoring meet featured competitors from Carroll University, Edgewood College, Ripon College, UW-Oshkosh and Viterbo University.

Kindt earned her victories by running to a time of 9.10 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and leaping to a height of 5-3 3/4 in the high jump.

Starzynski took first place in the long jump with a distance of 17-1 1/4 while Geisness won the 800-meter run and Lohrenz the mile run with times of 2:18.08 and 5:01.27, respectively. Geisness also ran with Cyna Madigan, Erika Mullen and Olivia Murray for a second-place time of 4:16.40 in the 1,600-meter relay.

UW-Oshkosh owned the top three finishers in both the 800-meter and mile runs.

Geisness was followed in the 800-meter run by Alexis Reichardt's second-place time of 2:31.58 and Murray's third-place performance of 2:37.74. Lohrenz was trailed in the mile run by Alexandria Demco's second-place time of 5:01.45 and Madigan's third-place effort of 5:13.21.

The Titans also received a pair of top four listings from Elizabeth Hren, Vanessa Jenneman and Brenna Masloroff.

Hren finished second in the 200- and third in the 60-meter dashes with times of 27.20 and 8.09 seconds, respectively, while Jenneman placed second in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:05.10 and fourth in the long jump with a measurement of 16-6. Masloroff ranked second in the shot put and fourth in the 20-pound weight throw with distances of 42-10 3/4 and 46-4, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh's remaining second-place mentions belonged to Rachel Castelli and Allie Marineau. Castelli recorded a time of 8.06 seconds in the 60-meter dash while Marineau registered a mark of 47-8 in the 20-pound weight throw.

Other Titans finishing third were Anna Bubolz with a leap of 16-7 1/4 in the long jump, Elise Deaver with a cast of 46-8 in the 20-pound weight throw, Megan Hunt with a height of 4-11 1/2 in the high jump, Lauren Urban with a time of 11:31.38 in the 3,000-meter run and Alaina Wagner with a time of 1:05.50 in the 400-meter run.

Closing out UW-Oshkosh's fourth-place listings were Bobbi Blahnik's measurement of 38-11 1/2 in the shot put, Taylor Christensen's height of 9-8 in the pole vault, Sydney Fricke's time of 11:34.01 in the 3,000-meter run and Andrea Glaz's performance of 8.10 seconds in the 60-meter dash.

The Titans return to action next Saturday (Dec. 11) by hosting the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational in Kolf Sports Center.
