Titans Total 24 Place Winners At UW-Platteville Invitational

Morgan Florek, Riley Kindt and Sydney Thompson placed in three events apiece as the UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team totaled 24 top-eight finishes at the UW-Platteville Invitational held Saturday (April 10).

Florek finished second in the discus with a measurement of 131-2, fifth in the shot put with a distance of 40-7 1/2 and seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 150-9.

Kindt won the high jump with a height of 5-3 and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.29 seconds. She also ran with Elizabeth Hren, Kyra Huber and Mikayla Jackson for a second-place time of 48.63 seconds in the 400-meter relay.

Kindt's performance in the 100-meter hurdles ranks 18th in the NCAA Division III this season while her effort in the high jump ranks 21st. The Titans' 400-meter relay time now owns the ninth-fastest time in the country.

Thompson won the hammer throw with a measurement of 166-0 that ranks seventh nationally. She also finished third in the shot put with a distance of 42-9 and fourth in the discus with a cast of 120-0.

Cara Volz earned UW-Oshkosh's third victory with her javelin throw of 107-8. She also finished fourth in the triple jump with a skip of 34-9.

The Titans' remaining second-place listing belonged to Meygan Benzing and Alexandria Steger. Benzing ran to a time of 11:49.86 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while Steger recorded a measurement of 105-2 in the javelin.

UW-Oshkosh's other fourth-place listings went to Anna Bubolz with a leap of 4-9 in the high jump, Drue Polka with a time of 1:02.83 in the 400-meter run and Emma Warr with a height of 11-4 1/4 in the pole vault.

Finishing sixth for the Titans were Vanessa Jenneman with a mark of 17-2 3/4 in the long jump and Melissa Schneider with a time of 2:51.28 in the 800-meter run.

Titan Brenna Masloroff finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 38-7.

UW-Oshkosh's five eighth-place finishes went to Michaela Barrette with a measurement of 106-9 in the discus, Kahley Logan with a distance of 38-2 3/4 in the shot put, Erika Mullen with a time of 1:05.42 in the 400-meter run, Karina Perez with a mark of 31-2 in triple jump and Alaina Wagner with a time of 26.71 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Jackson finished third in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.51 seconds, but elected not to run in the finals.

Team scores were not tabulated for the meet, which involved participants from Augustana College (Ill.), Edgewood College, UW-La Crosse, and UW-Stevens Point in addition to UW-Oshkosh and UW-Platteville.

UW-Oshkosh will represented Friday and Saturday (April 16-17) at the UW-La Crosse Multi-Event Invitational.
