Demco Headlines Titans' 11 All-Region Track & Field Selections

Alexandria Demco led UW-Oshkosh's 11 selections to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's 2021 NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region Women's Indoor Track & Field Team.

A total of 573 all-region awards were distributed among the nation's eight Division III regions. To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top five individuals in their respective region on the final TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region's top-three relay team was also selected for distinction.

Demco, a junior, earned All-Region accolades in the 800-meter run, mile run, 3,000-meter run, 5,000-meter run and distance medley relay.

Demco concluded the indoor season ranked second nationally in the mile run with a time of 4:57.84, sixth in the 800-meter run at 2:15.58, 11th in the 5,000-meter run at 17:43.97 and 20th in the 3,000-meter run at 10:27.44.

In the distance medley relay, Demco, sophomore Libby Geisness, junior Hannah Lohrenz and freshman Vanessa Jenneman collected All-Region status for recording the nation's 17th-fastest time of 12:38.41.

Geisness and Lohrenz also achieved All-Region mention in the 800-meter and mile runs, respectively. Lohrenz ranked 15th in the mile run with her time of 5:06.31 and Geisness 20th in the 800-meter run at 2:18.99.

UW-Oshkosh senior Sydney Thompson picked up All-Region citations in both the shot put and 20-pound weight throw. She ranked second in the country with her measurement of 46-3 1/4 in the shot put and sixth with her distance of 55-5 1/2 in the 20-pound weight throw.

Titan sophomore Emma Warr acquired All-Region status after concluding the indoor season with a nation-leading height of 12-1 1/2 in the pole vault.

UW-Oshkosh's final All-Region award winner was freshman Riley Kindt. She earned the tribute after ranking fourth nationally in the high jump with a leap of 5-5 3/4.

Last year, Lohrenz received All-Region recognition in the mile run, Geisness in the 800-meter run and Warr in the pole vault. Lohrenz was also a 2019 All-Region selection in the distance medley relay.

UW-Oshkosh begins its outdoor season Saturday (March 27) at the Carroll University Open.
