Three Titans Earn Women's All-Region Track & Field Honors

Senior Hannah Lohrenz and freshmen Libby Geisness and Emma Warr were UW-Oshkosh's three selections to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's 2020 NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region Women's Indoor Track & Field Team.

A total of 790 all-region awards were distributed among the nation's eight Division III regions. The top five individuals and the top three relay squads in each event from each region earned all-region distinction.

Lohrenz received all-region mention in the mile run while Geisness collected accolades in the 800-meter run and Warr in the pole vault.

All three UW-Oshkosh honorees will compete at this weekend's Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship in Winston-Salem, N.C. The 36th edition of the championship will be held Friday and Saturday (March 13-14) at the JDL Fast Track.

Lohrenz, an all-region selection in the distance medley relay last year, is seeded seventh in the mile run for the upcoming Division III Championship. She qualified for the meet following her season-best time of 4:59.86 at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Final Qualifier held March 4. Lohrenz finished third in the mile run at the WIAC Championship held Feb. 28-29 in Kolf Sports Center.

Geisness, who won the 800-meter run at last month's WIAC Championship, is seeded 20th in the event for the Division III Championship. She posted her season-best time of 2:15.76 at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge held Feb. 22.

Warr is seeded 13th in the pole vault for this weekend's national meet with a height of 12-3 1/2. She acquired her season-best mark at the Carthage College Final Qualifier held March 6. Warr was a second-place finisher at this year's WIAC Championship.

There were seven programs with 20 or more all-region award winners this year, including the University of Chicago (Ill.) and Williams College (Mass.) with 23 apiece.

UW-Oshkosh and its seven other WIAC colleagues combined for 32 All-Midwest Region selections, including six multiple award winners. UW-La Crosse led the WIAC with 19 all-region selections.

Favor Ezewuzie from Wheaton College (Ill.) and Isabel Maletich from the University of Chicago were named the Midwest Region's Track and Field Athlete of the Year, respectively. UW-La Crosse's Nickolas Davis was chosen as the Midwest Region's Coach of the Year.
