Junior Cheyenne Moore and seniors Kristen Linzmeier and Erica Munyan of the UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team collected All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The USTFCCCA recognized 608 NCAA Division III student-athletes for their academic performance during the 2016-17 school year, including 21 from UW-La Crosse and 18 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh and the six other WIAC member institutions combined for 68 of the All-Academic Team selections. In all, a total of 141 schools owned award winners.

Linzmeier, who enjoys a 3.816 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as a kinesiology major, finished seventh indoors and 15th outdoors at the NCAA Championship. She also won the mile run at the WIAC Indoor Championship.

Moore, who holds a 3.740 cumulative GPA as a nursing major, placed 14th in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Indoor Championship.

Munyan, who possesses a 3.467 cumulative GPA as a kinesiology major, finished 13th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championship. She also captured titles in the indoor 3,000-meter run and outdoor 3,000-meter steeplechase at the WIAC Championships.

The USTFCCCA selected Amber Celen of Bridgewater College (Va.); Taryn Cordani, Katherine Pitman and Brandy Smith of Ithaca College (N.Y.); and Emily Richards of Ohio Northern University as its Scholar-Athletes of the Year.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA's Track & Field All-Academic Team, student-athletes must own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and have either competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 of an individual event or in the national top 35 of a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order list.

The USTFCCA also selected Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) as its Scholar Team of the Year. The Bears swept both the indoor and outdoor awards.

The highest cumulative GPA of any women's program belonged to Saint Vincent College (Pa.). The Bearcats recorded a GPA of 3.727 during the 2016-17 academic year to edge Mount Holyoke College's (Mass.) mark of 3.720.
