Titans Have Five Warhawk Classic Event Winners

UW-Oshkosh had five event champions and one second-place finisher at the Warhawk Women's Track & Field Classic held Saturday (Jan. 28) in Whitewater.

The Titans' list of winners featured three athletes who recorded a NCAA Division III Top 10 performance, including Emily Reichenberger who now ranks second in the country with her time of 7.72 seconds in the 60-meter dash.

Also entering this season's national Top 10 directory were Kristen Linzmeier and Karina Marchan. Linzmeier now ranks ninth in the nation and Marchan 10th after recording efforts of 2:17.33 in the 800-meter run and 18-1 in the long jump, respectively.

Other first-place finishers for UW-Oshkosh were Cheyenne Moore and Cara Volz. Moore won the mile run with a time of 5:08.78 while Volz skipped to victory with a measurement of 37-1 1/4 in the triple jump. Volz also placed fifth for the Titans in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.41 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh's lone second-place finisher in the meet was Elizabeth Abhold. She was the runner-up in the 20-pound weight throw with a distance of 55-3 1/2.

The Titans had a trio of third-place finishers as Erica Munyan ran to a time of 5:15.23 in the mile run, Megan Leahy sprung to a height of 10-11 3/4 in the pole vault and Lauren Wrensch leaped to a mark of 17-1 1/2 in the long jump.

UW-Oshkosh also received a fourth-place measurement of 51-7 from Ellie Infante in the 20-pound weight throw and a seventh-place distance of 38-0 1/4 from Taylor Louis in the shot put.

The Titans wrapped up their team scoring with the eighth-place performances of 19:22.57 from Ashton Keene in the 5,000-meter run, 10-1 3/4 in the pole vault from Alyssa Ryan and the 8.05 seconds from Olivia Seeley in the 60-meter dash.

Host UW-Whitewater captured the team title with 135 points while UW-Stevens Point finished second with 112 and University of Chicago (Ill.) third with 102. UW-Oshkosh placed fourth in the 10-team meet with 93.5 points and North Central College (Ill.) fifth with 61.5.

UW-Oshkosh will send athletes to both the Pointer Invitational in Stevens Point and the Windy City Rumble in Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 4.
