Women's Swim and Dive Hits the Pool for Weekend Action

OSHKOSH, Wis—The UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving squad are set for competitions against Beloit College and UW-La Crosse. The Titans will conclude their home season on Jan. 20, hosting Beloit at 5 p.m. in Albee Hall.

The Titans will visit the Eagles of UW-La Crosse on Jan. 21. Action is set to get underway at 1 p.m. in La Crosse.

Brianna Smith was named the WIAC x Kwik Trip swimmer of the week after strong perforamcens against Stevens Point and Carthage. Smith took first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:06.35) and 500-yard freestyle (5:39.99) against Stevens Point and in the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.08) against Carthage College.

Abbi Priestley broke the pool record on 3-meter, six dives against Stevens Point, recording a dive score of 280.

Top Times

Francesca Schiro holds the No. 4 fastest time in the conference in the 50 freestyle and the third fastest time in the 100 freestyle. Schiro has the second fastest time in the 200 freestyle and a top-20 time in the 100 breaststroke.

Cadence Showalter holds the third fastest time in the 500 freestyle and holds the sixth fastest time in the 100 freestyle. Showalter has the third fastest time in the 200 butterfly in the league and top-15 times in the 200 IM and 400 IMs.  

In the distance races, Smith and Showalter hold top-15 times in the 1000 freestyle. Smith sits at No. 7 in the conference for fastest time in the 1650 freestyle.

Grace Fergus sits with top-20 time in the 200 backstroke. Fergus has a top-15 time in the 100 butterfly.

Priestley sits at No. 8 on the 1-meter diving with six dives attempted and has the top spot on the 1-meter dives with 11 attempts. Priestley has the top spot on the 3-meter dives with 11 attempts and sits inside the top-10 on the 3-meter board with six dives.
