Schiro and Showalter Earn First Place Finishes; Titans Fall to Eagles

LA CROSSE, Wis.—The UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving program claimed three first place finishes as they fell to the UW-La Crosse Eagles, 167-81 in a conference matchup.  

Francesca Schiro led all competitors in the 200 freestyle, timing in at 1:57.91. Schiro was two seconds ahead of the runner-up in the 100 freestyle, timing in at 54.30 for first place.

Leading all swimmers in the 200 butterfly, Cadence Showalter timed in at 2:18.22. Showalter led all swimmers with a time of 5:30.80 in the 500 freestyle.

Brianna Smith finished in the top-3 of the 1000 freestyle, clocking in at 11:38.08. Angela Satterlee rounded out the Titans, clocking in at 13:32.34. In the 500 freestyle, Smith timed in at 5:44.68 while Satterlee clocked in at 6:36.23.

Grace Fergus took third in the 100 backstroke, timing in at 1:06.84. Fergus was the runner-up in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:24.95.

In the 100 butterfly, Brianna Wesenberg and Fergus claimed top-3 spots with times of 1:05.88 and 1:06.16. Wesenberg recorded a season best time in the event.

Abbi Priestley took runner-up in the 1-meter diving, recording a dive score of 262.75. Maya Indiraraj claimed a top-8 finish at 200.80 while Lexi Johnson recorded a score of 144.40. In the 3-meter action, Priestley recorded a score of 221.20 for second. Indiraraj took home third place with a score of 204.60.

Fergus, Wesenberg, Showalter, and Schiro took second in the 200 medley relay, swimming a season best time for quad of Titans at 1:58.71.  In the 200 freestyle relay, Showalter, Schiro, Smith, and Wesenberg timed in a 1:43.94 for second place.

The Titans return to action on Feb. 4 as they travel to Ripon College.
