Titans Shine in Home Finale

OSHKOSH, Wis.—Concluding action in Albee Hall, the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving program posted a 118-73 victory over Beloit College on Friday evening.

Francesca Schiro led all racers in the 50 and 100 freestyles, clocking in at 25.35 and 54.50.

Leading the way in the 200 freestyle, Cadence Showalter and Brianna Smith went 1-2 with times of 2:01.38 and 2:05.52. Showalter recorded a season best time in the event.

Competing in the 200 IM for the Titans, Brianna Wesenberg shaved two seconds of her previous season best time. Wesenberg clocked in a 2:24.46 in the event. Wesenberg competed in the 100 breaststroke for the Titans, swimming a 1:17.70.

Showalter and Grace Fergus competed in the 100 butterfly for the Titans and claimed times of 1:02.32 and 1:04.20.  Fergus was the lone Titan in the 100 backstroke, swimming a 1:08.94.

Angela Satterlee competed in the 1000 freestyle, recording a season best time of 13:22.77. In the second distance race, Smith swam a 5:39.31 in the 500 freestyle.

In diving action, Abbi Priestley and Maya Indiraraj went 1-2 on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. In 1-meter action, Priestley recorded a score of 260.09 while Indiraraj scored a 186.37. Lexi Johnson competed on the 1-meter boards for a dive score of 148.06.  On the 3-meter boards, Priestley recorded a score of 258.15 while Indiraraj recorded a 204.60. Johnson rounded out the Titans in action, recording a score of 98.33.

In the 200 freestyle relay, the Titans team of Showalter, Schiro, Smith, and Wesenberg clocked in a 1:45.72 for a first place finish.

The Titans continue action this weekend, competing at UW-La Crosse on January 21. Action is set to get started at 1 p.m.
