Titans To Continue Postseason At NCAA North Regional Championship

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team is set to participate in the 36-team NCAA Regional Championship hosted by UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Nov. 11) at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax.  

The 6,000-meter women's race begins at noon with roughly 300 runners across 36 teams, five of which are nationally ranked.  

Nationally ranked teams include third-ranked Carleton, 12th-ranked UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire ranked 21st, and 22nd-ranked St. Olaf.  

The winning team will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship hosted in Newville, Pa. next Saturday (Nov. 18). 22 other teams will have the opportunity to receive at-large bids for the championship.  

UW-Oshkosh, which finished 8th at last year's Regional Championship, is expected to be led by  

Cyna Madigan (Jr. • Rosendale), Josie Makurat (So. • Fairfax, Va.), Libby Geisness (Jr. • Waukesha), Gracie Buchinger (Jr. • Waukesha), Meygan Benzing (Sr. • Juneau), Jamie Catania (So. • Fond du Lac), and Zoe Watson (Fr. • Kiel). In the WIAC Championship, Madigan placed 12th, Makurat finished 19th, Geisness in 25th, Buchinger ended in 36th, Benzing placed 43rd, Catania in 50th place, and Watson finished in 51st.  

Individually, the top seven finishers from each region not a part of the team qualifiers will also earn an invitation to the national championship.  

The top 35 finishers in the Division III North Region will receive all-region status.
