Moore First, Titans Third At Kollege Town Sports Invitational

UW-Oshkosh's Cheyenne Moore continued to outrun her adversaries by winning the individual title at the Kollege Town Sports Women's Cross Country Invitational held Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Lake Breeze Golf in Winneconne.

Moore, who has won her last three races, defeated 360 runners on Saturday to capture first place with a 6,000-meter time of 22:11. Moore previously was the winner of 167 runners at the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 23 and 242 runners at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Sept. 29.

Hannah Swanson of Willamette University (Ore.) finished second to Moore with a time of 22:36 while Patricia Harrison of Moody Bible Institute (Ill.) placed third in 22:40, Emma Roberts of Benedictine University (Ill.) fourth in 22:41 and Rachel House of Heidelberg University (Ohio) fifth in 22:44.

The top 10 individual listings also featured Jackie Schane of Aurora University (Ill.) finishing sixth with a time of 22:44, Madelyn Scopp of North Central College (Ill.) seventh in 23:08, Alexa Beezhold of Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) eighth in 23:13, Karalynn Brock of Olivet Nazarene University ninth in 23:16 and Graceanne Tarsa of St. Norbert College 10th in 23:25.

UW-Oshkosh placed third in the team competition with 146 points. The Titans reached their score with the victory by Moore and the finishes of 16th by Hannah Lohrenz, 24th by Ashton Keene, 56th by Jessica Stamn and 79th by Cammy Garvelink. Lohrenz completed the course with a 23:41 while Keene finished in 23:58, Stamn in 24:36 and Garvelink in 24:58.

St. Norbert College won the 24-team meet with 93 points. Trailing the Green Knights were second-place North Central College with 116 points, UW-Oshkosh, fourth-place Augustana College (Ill.) with 150 and fifth-place Olivet Nazarene University with 169.

Wrapping up the top 10 teams were sixth-place Carroll University with 194 points, seventh-place Lake Forest College (Ill.) with 216, eighth-place UW-Stout with 246, ninth-place Carthage College with 259 and 10th-place Aurora University with 287.

In addition to its point scorers, UW-Oshkosh also had Reece Matheson finish 85th with a time of 25:05, Amanda Van Den Plas 104th in 25:26, Lexus Brown 154th in 26:10, Tayah Cunningham 173rd in 26:29, Allison Chen 193rd in 26:49 and Melissa Srnka 197th in 26:54.

UW-Oshkosh goes back to the Lake Breeze Golf Club on Friday (Oct. 20) to host a four-team meet with UW-Platteville, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater.
