Titans Finish Third At Gene Davis Invitational
Courtney Holland finished third and Rhea Fiorita seventh as the UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team placed third at the Gene Davis Invitational held Saturday (Oct. 10) in Appleton.
Host Lawrence University won the six-team meet with 27 points, while Concordia University Wisconsin finished second with 56 points, UW-Oshkosh third with 71 and Wisconsin Track Club fourth with 107.
Holland completed the 6,000-meter course in a third-place time of 24:13. Ashley Scheele of Concordia University Wisconsin captured the individual title with a time of 23:55, while Clare Bruning of Lawrence University placed second among the meet's 58 runners in 24:00.
Lawrence University also swept the next three individual finishes as Erin Schrobilgen placed fourth in 24:26, Liz Landes fifth in 24:36 and Margaret Heck in 24:38.
Fiorita ranked seventh for the Titans with her time of 24:39. Joining Holland and Fiorita as team scorers for UW-Oshkosh were Hannah Thorn, Jessica Stamn and Betsy Gray. Thorn finished 11th with a time of 24:56, while Stamn placed 30th in 26:30 and Gray 34th in 26:51.
UW-Oshkosh also had Allie Broeniman place 40th in 27:25, Taylor Lindblad 46th in 28:03 and Lauren McMicking 49th in 28:18.
UW-Oshkosh, which competed in the Gene Davis Invitational without several of its top runners, will host the AAE Invitational next Saturday (Oct. 17) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.
