Cazzola Receives Another WIAC Weekly Award

UW-Oshkosh's Christy Cazzola (Sr. • Kaukauna) has been named the WIAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. Her latest award was for events held Oct. 8-14.

Cazzola defeated 498 other runners to take second place at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational held Oct. 13 in Winneconne. She completed the rain-soaked 6,000-meter course in a time of 21:32.

Alison Steinbrunner of Ohio Northern University won the race with a time of 21:24, while Lucy Cheadle of Washington University (Mo.) finished third in 21:35.

UW-Oshkosh placed seventh in the 37-team meet with 277 points. Calvin College (Mich.) took the team title with 91 points, while the University of Chicago (Ill.) finished second with 114, UW-Eau Claire third with 115, Hope College (Mich.) fourth with 172 and Illinois Wesleyan University fifth with 222.
