Titans Place Third At Warhawk Invitational

Mallory Burk (Sr. • Athens) ran to a third-place ranking as UW-Oshkosh finished third in the team standings at the Warhawk Women's Cross Country Invitational held Saturday (Sept. 18) in Whitewater.

Burk navigated through the 6,000-meter course in a time of 24:06. Ann Tank of UW-Platteville won the race with a time of 23:54, while Alli Tank of UW-Platteville finished second in 23:56.

A total of 90 runners crossed the finish line, with Emily Muhs of Lawrence University placing fourth with a time of 24:17 and Maddy Roznos of UW-Whitewater fifth in 24:30.

UW-Platteville captured the team title with 27 points, while UW-Whitewater finished second with 46 and UW-Oshkosh third with 97. The seven-team meet also had Lawrence University place fourth with 119 points and Wisconsin Lutheran College fifth with 127. UW-Oshkosh, which competed without several of its top runners, entered the meet ranked 19th in the NCAA Division III by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

In addition to Burk, UW-Oshkosh also received team scoring from Morgan Engelhart (Fr. • Oregon), Lauren Reigel (Fr. • Greenville), Lauren Pinzl (So. • Mercer) and Alex Nutter (Fr. • Fennimore). Engelhart finished 19th with a time of 26:13, Reigel 29th in 27:06, Pinzl 32nd in 27:18 and Nutter 35th in 27:25.

Other UW-Oshkosh results featured Kelsey Sweeney (So. • Verona) placing 37th with a time of 27:27, Carlyn Brown (Jr. • Belleville) 40th in 27:37, Mariah McMullen (Fr. • Byron, Ill.) 41st in 27:38, Michelle Murray (Fr. • Waunakee) 47th in 28:11, Kristin Stockheimer (So. • West Salem) 50th in 27:26, Rachel Wells (Fr. • Withee) 59th in 28:45, Gabrhael Walman (Fr. • Franklin) 66th in 29:42, Jennifer Dedolph (Fr. • Tigerton) 70th in 29:46 and Alli Weil (So. • Cottage Grove) 74th in 29:54.

UW-Oshkosh participates at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 25) in Falcon Heights, Minn.
