Titans Sweep Top Four Places In Dual With Pointers

Brittany Haas (Jr. • St. Charles, Ill.) led a sweep of UW-Oshkosh runners in the top four places during a non-scoring dual meet with the UW-Stevens Point women's cross country team on Friday (Oct. 23) at the Lake Breeze Golf Cub in Winneconne.

Haas won her first collegiate race by completing the 5,000-meter course in a time of 20:04. UW-Oshkosh's Megan Tyjeski (So. • Wisconsin Rapids) finished second among the 15 participants with a time of 20:31. The Titans' Kristin Stockheimer (Fr. • West Salem) placed third in 21:20 and Lauren Pinzl (Fr. • Mercer) fifth in 21:39.

UW-Stevens Point owned the next two runners as Zoe Bitner placed fifth in 21:47 and Brittany Dantine sixth in 21:51.

Other UW-Oshkosh competitors in the meet were Kathryn Magnor (So. • Brookfield), Leah Rebne (Fr. • Park Falls) and Carlyn Brown (So. • Belleville). Magnor finished seventh in 22:11, Rebne eighth in 22:29 and Brown 11th in 23:38.

UW-Oshkosh, ranked 14th in the NCAA Division III by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, participated in the meet with only seven of its 20 available runners. Several of the Titans' top runners were absent from the meet as they were resting in preparation of next Saturday's (Oct. 31) WIAC Championship in Whitewater.
