Four Titans Receive ITA Academic Scholar-Athlete, Team Earns All-Academic

TEMPE, Ariz.- Four members of the UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday (July 12). The team was also included on the All-Academic list.

The Titans' 2022-23 Scholar-Athletes included Courtney Carpenter, Cordelia Damkot, Louisa Damkot and Alysa Pattee. All four student-athletes are first-time winners of the award.

Carpenter is a sophomore, studying Medical Imaging with a Sonography emphasis at UW-Oshkosh and owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average. The Oshkosh West High School graduate finished with an 0-1 record in singles play and 5-10 in doubles play in the fall season.

Cordelia Damkot, a junior, holds a 3.75 cumulative grade point average as an elementary education major. With an 11-5 singles record, the Sheboygan North High School graduate placed third in the No. 4 Singles at the 2022 WIAC Championship at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in La Crosse. She also finished the season with an 8-5 doubles record and placed fifth in the No. 3 Doubles at the conference championship with her sister, Louisa.

Louisa Damkot is an elementary education major. She owns a 3.76 cumulative grade point average as a junior. A Sheboygan North High School graduate, last fall, she went 7-8 in singles play and an 8-5 doubles record. Individually at the WIAC Championships, she took fifth in the No. 3 Singles.

Pattee is studying rehabilitation science and owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.51 as a junior. The Waupun High School graduated was a WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member after the 2021-22 academic year.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

UW-Oshkosh's four award winners were among 1,204 tennis players recognized from NCAA Division III schools, including 26 others from the WIAC (11 from UW-Stevens Point, five from UW-La Crosse and 10 from UW-Whitewater).

The Titans were one of 160 programs named All-Academic for the first time since the 2020-21 school year.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letterwinners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

UW-Stevens Point, UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater were also on the list from the WIAC.
