Eagles Take All Nine Contests In Victory Over Titans

UW-Oshkosh had a tough time on the court as it lost a 9-0 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis decision to UW-La Crosse Wednesday (Oct. 13) in Winona, Minn.

The Eagles (5-2, 4-2 WIAC) defeated the Titans (1-6, 0-4) by winning 24 of the 28 games in doubles play and taking all six singles contests in straight sets.

UW-Oshkosh received its best doubles performance against UW-La Crosse from Alyssa Pattee and Hannah Stitt in the second flight. The Titan duo lost an 8-3 result to Tasha Bailey and Kaitlyn Kalinka.

UW-La Crosse acquired its two other doubles wins from Kellie Hierl and Kimberly Steinert in the first flight and Morgan Graf and Hannah Riegle in the third. Hierl and Steinert defeated Jenna Nolde and Michelle Spicer, 8-1, while Graf and Riegle ousted Alessandra Rivera and Jade Schwichow, 8-0.

In singles competition, UW-Oshkosh's Pattee won five games in the second flight and Nolde three in the third. Pattee lost a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Bailey while Nolde lost a 6-3, 6-0 verdict to Riegle.

UW-La Crosse won the remaining four singles contests by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Victorious for the Eagles were Steinert over Spicer in the first flight, Graf over Stitt in the fourth, Susi Hu over Rivera in the fifth and Katie Kearney over Schwichow in the sixth.

UW-Oshkosh closes out its fall dual meet schedule with home matches against UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Oct. 16) and both Marian University and UW-Stout on Sunday (Oct. 17) at the Kolf Sports Center Outdoor Tennis Courts.
