Titans Beaten By Warhawks

UW-Oshkosh played the first of its two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis matches on back-to-back days and the result was a 9-0 loss to UW-Whitewater on Tuesday (April 6) at the Kolf Sports Center Outdoor Courts.

UW-Oshkosh (0-2, 0-1 WIAC), which visits UW-Stevens Point (3-1, 0-1) on Wednesday (April 7), won only seven games during Tuesday's contest against the 13-time defending conference champion Warhawks (7-5, 3-0).

The Titans opened Tuesday's match with a pair of 8-1 defeats in the doubles competition as Michelle Spicer and Maddie Toboyek lost to Olivia Kraft and Paige Nierman in the first flight while Madeline Beck and Hannah Stitt lost to Mackenzie Lindow and Jessica Minkov in the third.

UW-Whitewater, which has won its last 105 WIAC dual matches, earned an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles as Courtney Day and Molly Rueth beat Angie Carini and Courtney Salisbury.

The Warhawks claimed a pair of 6-0, 6-0 victories during the singles skirmishes as Bethany Marshall defeated Salisbury in the third flight while Madelyn Bigelow ousted Beck in the fifth.

UW-Oshkosh's best individual performance was at No.2 singles, where Toboyek lost a 6-2, 6-1 result to Sabrina Palavra.

UW-Whitewater's Kasey Schlicht captured the win at No. 1 singles with her 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Spicer.

The Warhawks also had Kellie Ha tally a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Stitt at No. 4 singles.

UW-Whitewater's Bryce Bigelow was the winner at No. 6 singles due to an injury default over Carini.
