Pietkauskis, Troia Lead Titans At UW-Whitewater Invitational

Jennifer Pietkauskis (So. • Sharon) and Erica Troia (So. • Madison) placed third in the "B" Doubles Draw to lead UW-Oshkosh at the UW-Whitewater Women's Tennis Invitational held Saturday (Sept. 12) in Whitewater.

Pietkauskis and Troia teamed up to post a 2-1 record, including a 6-1, 4-6 (10-2) win over Megan Kasten and Marta Kinsman of UW-Whitewater in their third-place match.

The UW-Oshkosh duo opened with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Callie Mikolajczak and Stephanie Schick of UW-Stout before suffering a 6-2, 7-5 loss to Mandy O'Keefe and Lindsay Seccombe of UW-La Crosse.

UW-Oshkosh tallied its best individual finishes in the "C" Singles Draw. The flight featured Shannon Stoffregen (Fr. • Sheboygan Falls) placing fourth and Amy Richards (Fr. • Eden Prairie, Minn.) fifth.

Stoffregen compiled a 1-2 record after following a 6-4, 6-3 win over Brianna Berkowitz of Beloit College with two straight losses. Stoffregen came up short in her third-place contest as she dropped a 5-7, 6-0 (10-6) decision to Ashley Migin of Beloit College. Stoffregen also lost a 4-6, 6-4 (10-) result to Kelly Foster of UW-Whitewater.

Richards went 1-1 in the tournament, including a 6-0, 6-0 win over Berkowitz in her fifth-place match. Richards opened with a 4-6, 6-2 (10-6) loss to Crystal Zhao of UW-Whitewater.

UW-Oshkosh also had Eva Counsell (So. • Elkhorn) go 0-2 in the "A" Singles Draw and Amy Hartl (Fr. • Marshfield) and Haley Ott (Fr. • Marshfield) go 1-2 and 0-3 in the "B" Singles Draw, respectively.

Kayla Kodet (Jr. • Manitowoc) and Megan Shallbetter (Fr. • Oshkosh) went 2-1 in the "B" Doubles Draw, while Brittany Braasch (Sr. • Ixonia) and Whitney Tornow (Jr. • Neenah) and Emily Bostwick (So. • Whitefish Bay) and Liz Leffler (So. • Racine) both went 1-1 in the "A" Doubles Draw.
