Challoner Leads Titans At Rochester Invitational
Katie Challoner placed in the top four in both breaststroke events as UW-Oshkosh finished in ninth place with 294 points at the Rochester Invitational on Dec. 4-6 in Rochester, Minn.
Challoner was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke event with a time of 1:05.90 and finished fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke race with a time of 2:26.91. UW-Eau Claire's Samantha Senczyszyn won both breaststroke titles with times of 1:01.68 in the 100 and 2:14.84 in the 200.
University of South Dakota, an NCAA Division I program, won the 10-team invitational with 1,831 points.
Division II institutions St. Cloud State University (Minn.) and Minnesota State University-Mankato finished in second and third places with 1,737.5 and 1,324 points, respectively.
UW-La Crosse was fourth with 1,123 points and UW-Eau Claire fifth with 926.5.
Completing UW-Oshkosh's top-20 individual finishers were divers Sally Hesby, Gabrielle Kraus and Colleen Barnstable.
Hesby placed ninth in the 3-meter diving event with 399.70 points and 14th in on the 1-meter board with 384.70 points.
Kraus finished 11th at 3 meters with 398.30 points and 13th at 1 meter with 392.85.
Barnstable was 18th in the 3-meter diving competition with 306.80 points.
Rounding out the Titans' top results was the 16th-place finish by the 200-yard medley relay team of Challoner, McKinzie Halkola, Alison Panske and Taylor Teske with a time of 1:52.49.
UW-Oshkosh takes on Lawrence University on Friday (Dec. 11) in Appleton.
