Titans Flawless Against Red Hawks

UW-Oshkosh won all 16 events during its 204-40 women's swimming & diving triumph over Ripon College on Saturday (Feb. 2) in Albee Hall.

Emily Shandley (Sr. • Oak Creek) accounted for three victories in the freestyle races. She took the 50-yard race in 26.10, the 100-yard race in 56.89 and the 200-yard race in 2:03.35.

Katherine Challoner (Fr. • Sun Prairie) and Britney Hilgendorf (So. • Madison) each contributed two wins. Challoner clocked a 1:11.04 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a 2:35.92 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Hilgendorf claimed the 100-yard backstroke at 1:08.12 and the 400-yard individual medley at 5:06.78.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Challoner and Hilgendorf teamed with Elizabeth Duffey (Fr. • McFarland) and Lawren Jaben (Fr. • Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) to post a winning time of 2:02.75.

Elizabeth Duffey was on the 200-yard freestyle relay that earned first place in 1:54.35. Joining her on the squad were Vanessa Jagodinsky (Jr. • Green Bay), Laura Sullivan (Fr. • Milwaukee) and Jackie Wnuk (Fr. • Oak Creek).

Jagodinsky booked an individual victory with her 2:30.84 in the 200-yard butterfly. Marissa Graff (Jr. • Hancock, Mich.) won the 1,650-yard freestyle at 19:48.53 and Casey Houts (Fr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) took the 200-yard backstroke at 2:26.41. The remaining Titan champions were Sara Gosline (Fr. • Janesville) in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:52.88 and Katie Duffey (Sr. • McFarland) in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:07.69.

The diving competitions featured just one participant, as Sally Hesby (Fr. • Plymouth, Minn.) achieved a three-meter score of 216.23 and a one-meter mark of 214.80.

UW-Oshkosh is off until the WIAC Championship on Feb. 14-16 in Brown Deer.
