Shandley, Sullivan Help Thwart Buccaneers

Emily Shandley (Sr. • Oak Creek) and Laura Sullivan (Fr. • Milwaukee) each won two races during UW-Oshkosh's 103-70 triumph over the Beloit College women's swimming & diving team on Saturday (Jan. 19) in Beloit.

In the freestyle events, Shandley captured both the 50-yard version (26.43) and the 500-yard challenge (5:43.66). Sullivan earned the 200-yard freestyle title at 2:07.67 and added a 200-yard individual medley win in 2:23.82.

The Titans also received victories from Britney Hilgendorf (So. • Madison) and Vanessa Jagodinsky (Jr. • Green Bay). Hilgendorf clocked a 1:08.96 in the 100-yard backstroke, while Jagodinsky marked a 1:00.22 in the 100-yard freestyle.

Jagodinsky contributed one of six runner-up finishes with her 27.91 in the 50-yard freestyle. Other second-place scores went to Paige Burgess (Fr. • Oconomowoc) in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:17.12, Katie Duffey (Sr. • McFarland) in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:08.02, Marissa Graff (Jr. • Hancock, Mich.) in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:53.40 and Casey Houts (Fr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:09.55.

UW-Oshkosh timed a 2:05.77 in the 200-yard medley relay for second place.

Hannah Forcey (Jr. • Appleton) attained a pair of third-place results with her 1:00.62 in the 100-yard freestyle and 2:34.54 in the 200-yard individual medley.

Sara Gosline (Fr. • Janesville) took the third position in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.94, as did Lawren Jaben (Fr. • Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:11.39 and Trisha Smithers (Sr. • Racine) in the 500-yard freestyle at 6:26.23.

The Titans conclude the regular season against Ripon College on Feb. 2 in Albee Hall.
