Eagles Record Dual Win Over Titans

Katherine Challoner (Fr. • Sun Prairie) won the 100-yard breaststroke, while Hannah Forcey (Jr. • Appleton) finished second in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events, during UW-Oshkosh's 159-84 loss to the UW-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team on Saturday (Jan. 12) in Albee Hall.

Challoner captured UW-Oshkosh's lone victory with a time of 1:10.35. The next five finishers were all from UW-La Crosse, including Elise O'Neill who placed second with a time of 1:11.98.

Forcey was one of six UW-Oshkosh swimmers to register a second-place finish. She swam to times of 59.25 in the 100-yard freestyle and 2:08.25 in the 200-yard freestyle.

The Titans also received second-place times of 11:26.11 in the 1,000-yard freestyle from Britney Hilgendorf (So. • Madison), 1:06.71 in the 100-yard butterfly from Vanessa Jagodinsky (Jr. • Green Bay), 5:48.48 in the 500-yard freestyle from Liz Schneider (Sr. • Middleton), 26.26 in the 50-yard freestyle from Emily Shandley (Sr. • Oak Creek) and 2:24.04 in the 200-yard individual medley from Laura Sullivan (Fr. • Milwaukee).

UW-Oshkosh took second in both relays as 200-yard medley group marked a time of 2:01.46 while the 400-yard freestyle quartet notched a time of 3:55.42.

Third-place finishes went to the Titans' Jagodinsky in the 200-yard individual medley (2:29.19), Shandley in the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.13), Marissa Graff (Jr. • Hancock, Mich.) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:54.47), Casey Houts (Fr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) in the 500-yard freestyle (5:53.20) and Carissa Priebusch (So. • Watertown) in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.73).

Sally Hesby (Fr. • Plymouth, Minn.) led UW-Oshkosh's fourth-place results with scores of 207.60 in the one-meter diving and 118.65 in the three-meter diving. The Titans also had fourth-place performances of 1:09.61 in the 100-yard butterfly from Graff, 2:11.01 in the 200-yard freestyle from Schneider, 1:01.81 in the 100-yard freestyle from Paige Burgess (Fr. • Oconomowoc), 27.61 in the 50-yard freestyle from Sara Gosline (Fr. • Janesville), 12:17.42 in the 1,000-yard freestyle from Sydney Krimmer (Fr. • Oak Creek) and 6:21.89 in the 500-yard freestyle from Trisha Smithers (Sr. • Racine).

UW-Oshkosh owned six fifth-place finishers, including Priebusch who swam to a time of 2:13.38 in the 200-yard freestyle. The Titans also received fifth-place performances of 2:37.07 in the 200-yard individual medley from Elizabeth Duffey (Fr. • McFarland), 1:10.65 in the 100-yard butterfly from Lawren Jaben (Fr. • Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.), 9:06.48 in the 500-yard freestyle from Mimi Jackson (Fr. • Milwaukee), 1:02.81 in the 100-yard freestyle from Katie Kubisiak (Fr. • Minocqua) and 13:01.58 in the 1,000-yard freestyle from Katherine Rosenberg (Fr. • Northbrook, Ill.).

Next Saturday (Jan. 19), UW-Oshkosh visits Beloit College for a dual meet.
