Hilgendorf, Shandley Excel During Setback To Warhawks

Emily Shandley (Sr. • Oak Creek) posted one win and a second-place finish as UW-Oshkosh fell to the UW-Whitewater women's swimming & diving team, 147.5-87.5, on Friday (Nov. 2) in Whitewater.

In the 100-yard freestyle race, Shandley clocked a 55.62 to win by more than two seconds. She then added a second-place time of 2:01.47 in the 200-yard freestyle.

The Titans' other victor was Britney Hilgendorf (So. • Madison), who prevailed in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11:17.79. Hilgendorf contributed a 5:38.84 to earn second in the 500-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh's 400-yard freestyle relay group also placed second. Paige Burgess (Fr. • Oconomowoc), Marissa Graff (Jr. • Hancock, Mich.), Sydney Krimmer (Fr. • Oak Creek) and Katherine Rosenbers (Fr. • Northbrook, Ill.) combined to finish in 4:12.83.

Other individuals listing second were Katherine Challoner (Fr. • Sun Prairie) in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:32.79, Katie Duffey (Sr. • McFarland) in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:33.27, Sara Gosline (Fr. • Janesville) in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.21 and Casey Houts (Fr. • Schaumburg, Ill.) in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:29.40.

In the diving events, Sally Hesby (Fr. • Plymouth, Minn.) listed third at both one meter (192.10) and three meters (196.05). Graff added a third-place time of 5:52.69 in the 500-yard freestyle, as did Houts with an 11:45.75 in the 1,000-yard freestyle.

The Titans head to the UW-Eau Claire Quadrangular on Nov. 17.
