Titans Dominate Dual Meet With Pioneers

UW-Oshkosh swept the podium in five events during its 137-68 victory over Carroll University on Saturday (Oct. 27) in Waukesha.

Britney Hilgendorf (So. • Madison) won both the 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle with a pair of Titans behind her. In the medley, Hilgendorf posted a 2:23.25 to finish ahead of Vanessa Jagodinsky (Jr. • Green Bay) at 2:28.54 and Katie Duffey (Sr. • McFarland) at 2:30.41.

The 500-yard freestyle standings featured Hilgendorf on top at 5:38.97, Liz Schneider (Sr. • Middleton) in second at 5:53.86 and Hannah Forcey (Jr. • Appleton) in third at 5:57.19.

Emily Shandley (Sr. • Oak Creek) captured the 200-yard freestyle race in 2:03.27, while Laura Sullivan (Fr. • Milwaukee) placed second at 2:07.99 and Schneider captured third at 2:11.43.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Jagodinsky took the win at 1:06.26, Katherine Challoner (Fr. • Sun Prairie) touched the wall second in 1:08.17 and Sara Gosline (Fr. • Janesville) followed in third at 1:12.02.

Marissa Graff (Jr. • Hancock, Mich.) easily won the 1,000-yard freestyle competition with her time of 12:02.40. Sydney Krimmer (Fr. • Oak Creek) came in the second position at 12:27.30, as Trisha Smithers (Sr. • Racine) claimed third at 13:14.

Challoner and Shandley achieved UW-Oshkosh's remaining victories. Challoner won the 200-yard breaststroke (1:11.42) and Shandley prevailed in the 100-yard freestyle (56.93).

The quartet of Forcey, Hilgendorf, Shandley and Sullivan also clocked a winning 1:44.63 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

UW-Oshkosh travels to UW-Whitewater for a dual meet on Friday (Nov. 2).
