Bennett Named to USC All-Region IX Third Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Mackenzie Bennett, a senior defender for the Titans was named to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division III All-Region IX Third Team on Tuesday afternoon. This is the second time she was named to the USC All-Region IX, earning First Team honors last season.

A total of 12 players were chosen to both the first and second all-region squads and 14 to the third. Players from schools affiliated with the American Rivers Conference, Midwest Conference, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Upper Midwest Athletic Conference or Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference were eligible to receive All-Region IX mention.

Bennett, a 2022 All-WIAC First Team member, started all 19 matches for the Titans this season and was a key part of the Titans defense that totaled four shutouts this season. She scored two goals, one at Ripon College (Wis.) in a 15-0 season-opening win and a game-winner at UW-River Falls to knock the Falcons out of playoff contention. She ended the Falcons season for the second season in a row with the goal on Oct. 29.

On top of her All-WIAC First Team mention this season, Bennett was also named the WIAC Judy Kruckman women's soccer Scholar-Athlete and named to the College Sports Communicators (formerly College Sports Information Directors of America or CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team.
