Bennett Earns CSC Academic All-District

OSHKOSH, Wis.- Mackenzie Bennett of the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team was named to the College Sports Communicators (formerly College Sports Information Directors of America or CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team on Tuesday afternoon.

A senior defender from Geneva, Ill., Bennett is majoring in nursing and currently holds at 3.79 cumulative GPA. She has been named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll four times and has been on UW-Oshkosh's Dean's List and Honor Roll multiple semesters. 

Bennett is a member of the Leadership Council and works for ThedaCare. She is passionate about volunteering in her community, volunteering with the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, Polar Plunge, Copia Cup and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

She was named to the All-WIAC first team for the second consecutive season in 2022. Last season, she was also named the Defender of the Year, earning additional honors in the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Second Team and the All-North/Central Region First Team 2021 and the United Soccer Coaches All-Region IX First Team. Bennett has been a team captain for the last two seasons, helping the team to a program-record 16 wins in the 2021 season and both the WIAC regular-season and tournament titles.

Bennett also was the first women's soccer player from UW-Oshkosh to win the WIAC's Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete award when it was announced on Nov. 8.

The most recent Titan to be named to the Academic All-District Team was goalkeeper Katie Berkopec in 2012.
