Titans Drop to Concordia Falcons in Rainy Match

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh Titans women's soccer team (4-8-5, 0-3-3 WIAC) fell to the Concordia University (Wis.) Falcons (13-3-2, 8-2-1 NACC) in a rainy 1-2 loss on J. J. Keller Field at Titans Stadium.

The Titans and Falcons battled in the dreary weather all match. Both offenses pushed the ball to the other goal, but the defenses stood strong. Oshkosh had eight shots on goal of their eleven shots, and Concordia had seven shots on goal of their 17 shots.

Both of Alayna Clark's shots were on goal, but Falcons' goalkeeper Brooke Braga, the NACC leader in save percentage, saved them both. Four other Titans had all their shots on goal, but none went in the net.

The Titans stuck first with an unassisted goal from Gabby Born at the end of the 26th minute. It was her fifth goal of the year and her first since a three-goal hat trick at Bethel University (Minn.) on September 3rd

The Falcons scored both of their goals in the second half, both coming from Selena Esten. She scored her first goal of the night in the 50th minute assisted by Isabella Rapp and her second goal came from a penalty kick in the 67th minute.

The Titan offense kept pushing the ball until the end, with two late kicks in the last three minutes by Riley Kaufmann and Clark, but Braga got in front of them, preserving the Falcons' lead.

The Titans wrap up the regular season at UW-River Falls on Saturday at 2 p.m.
