Women’s Soccer Program Acknowledged For Academic Achievement

The UW-Oshkosh women's soccer program continues to be recognized for its academic performance.

Head coach Erin Coppernoll's Titans compiled a 3.43 cumulative grade point average during the 2019-20 academic year to earn praise from the United Soccer Coaches for the third straight season.

UW-Oshkosh was one of 556 women's collegiate soccer programs presented with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award. Among the other programs honored were UW-Oshkosh's WIAC companions UW-Eau Claire (3.35), UW-La Crosse (3.58), UW-Stevens Point (3.62) and UW-Whitewater (3.64).

To qualify for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, a program must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The award runs a year behind the competition calendar since it also includes academic results from the spring semester.

NCAA Division II affiliate Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.) ranked third with its GPA of 3.87.

UW-Oshkosh has earned the United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Team Academic Award seven times since the award was instituted in 1996. The Titans previously collected the award in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2018 and 2019.
