First-Half Score Holds Up For Titans

Robyn Elliott scored for the third straight match as the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team edged UW-Platteville, 1-0, on Saturday (Oct. 8) in Platteville.

Elliott's decisive goal against the Pioneers came about on a 10-yard kick during the 32nd minute (31:02) of play. Her team-leading fifth goal of the season followed a pass from AJ Jackson.

UW-Platteville (4-8, 0-3 WIAC) had an opportunity to take a 1-0 lead just a few minutes earlier, but Yamilex Jaramillo's kick hit the post during the 29th minute.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Madelyn Runyan kept UW-Platteville scoreless by stopping all four shots she faced. Runyan recorded her second career shutout with blocks on shots taken by the Pioneers' Anna Sobal in the 20th minute, Alex Carlson in the 48th, Bianca Mahoney in the 83rd and Nicole Bong in the 88th.

UW-Platteville, which suffered its seventh straight loss, ended the match with 10 shots. The Pioneers were led by the four shots from Jaramillo and the two from both Mahoney and Sobal.

UW-Platteville goalkeeper Alyssa Sickler matched Runyan with four saves. She stopped shots taken by the Titans' Rachel Elliott in the fifth minute, Megan Paulick in the 15th, Katelyn Fladten in the 75th and Robyn Elliott in the 87th.

UW-Oshkosh (7-5-1, 2-1 WIAC) totaled 15 shots while earning all 10 of the game's corner kicks. The Titans were led by the four shots from Rachel Elliott, the three from Paulick and the two from Robyn Elliott.

The Titans have now won 20 of their 24 meetings (20-3-1 record) with the Pioneers.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it hosts UW-Stout next Saturday (Oct. 15).
