Elliott Sisters Lead Titans Past Saints

It was a family affair as twin sisters Robyn and Rachel Elliott accounted for the only goal during UW-Oshkosh's 1-0 victory over The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) women's soccer team on Saturday (Sept. 10) in Duluth, Minn.

After a scoreless first half, Robyn Elliott settled a pass from her sister, Rachel, and delivered a perfect kick to the low far post of the goal during the game's 47th minute (46:49). The goal was Robyn Elliott's first of the season and 18th of her career.

UW-Oshkosh (3-1) totaled 22 shots in the defensive battle, including eight that were saved by goalkeeper Roni Rudolph of The College of St. Scholastica. In all, the Titans launched eight of their shots in the first half and 14 in the second.

Robyn Elliott attempted a team-high five shots for UW-Oshkosh while Rachel Elliott and Delaney Karl released four apiece.

The College of St. Scholastica (1-1-1) was limited to just five shots, three in the first half and two in the second. The Saints' Jenna Mangine, Taylor Olson and Hannah Zeis all had shots that were saved by UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Jessica Galason.

In addition to its huge advantage in shots, UW-Oshkosh also earned six of the game's seven corner kicks.

The teams were playing for the third time but just the first since the 2008 season. The College of St. Scholastica has appeared in the NCAA Division III postseason the last five years and UW-Oshkosh the last two.

UW-Oshkosh remains in Duluth to play St. Olaf College (Minn.) on Sunday (Sept. 11).
