NCAA Women's Soccer Statistical Rankings Include Two Titans

UW-Oshkosh seniors Nina Muzi and Christina Mauthe ended the 2015 season listed among the NCAA Division III women's soccer statistical leaders.

Muzi ranked 31st in the country in goalkeeper minutes played (1,874:28), 61st in save percentage (.845) and 68th in goals-against average (.816).

Mauthe, a forward, listed 44th with five game-winning goals.

As a team, UW-Oshkosh ranked 42nd in the nation with a .852 save percentage and 46th with a .738 winning percentage (14-4-3 record). The Titans produced the third highest win total in the program's 23 seasons and extended their streak of consecutive winning seasons to seven.

Muzi started all 21 matches for the Titans this year and allowed just 17 goals with six shutouts and 93 saves. She led the WIAC in save percentage and goals-against average while tending the UW-Oshkosh goal for all but 90 minutes during the season.

Muzi was credited with three consecutive shutouts during a span in which the Titans held their opponents scoreless for nearly 392 minutes (391:28) from Sept. 26 through Oct. 14.

Muzi appeared in 53 contests during her career, including 44 as a starter. She produced a 31-14-5 record while recording career totals of 234 saves, 15 shutouts and a 0.76 goals-against average in 4,408 minutes of action.

A starter in 19 of the Titans' 20 games this season, Mauthe led the squad with 22 points on eight goals and six assists. Her assist total ranked second in the WIAC while her points listed fourth and her goals sixth.

Mauthe's five match-winning goals were the second most in the league this season. Her game winners included the lone scores in 1-0 victories over UW-Stout on Oct. 3 and UW-Eau Claire in the semifinal round of the WIAC Championship on Nov. 5.

Mauthe owns career totals of 30 points, 10 goals and 10 assists in 53 games, including 44 as a starter.

UW-Oshkosh compiled a 5-1-1 WIAC record to share this year's league title with UW-La Crosse. The conference championship was the first for the Titans.

UW-Oshkosh received an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III Championship and lost a penalty-kick tiebreaker to DePauw University (Ind.) in the opening round. It was the Titans' second straight NCAA postseason appearance and fourth overall.
