Titans, Blue Devils Meet In WIAC Championship Semifinal

UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stout battle for a spot in the WIAC Women's Soccer Championship final when they meet on Thursday (Nov. 7) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

The Titans (11-7-1) and Blue Devils (8-9-1) will start at 6 p.m. The winner either hosts UW-Eau Claire or visits top-seeded UW-Whitewater on Saturday. The WIAC champion earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

UW-Oshkosh closed the regular season by winning 8-of-10 matches. The Titans (6-2) finished second in the WIAC, tying their highest finish in program history.

Four different Titans have at least four goals this year. Amanda Baalke leads the group with five, in addition to seven assists. Goalkeeper Katie Berkopec ranks first in the league with seven shutouts.

UW-Stout earned third place in the conference with a 5-3 record. The Blue Devils had a six-game losing streak during September, but they've bounced back to win six of their last eight.

The league's fourth-leading scorer, Alix Hyduke owns seven goals and three assists. The Blue Devils also have nine points apiece from Kelly Conn and Lauren Kizlik. Paige Meyer has saved 84.7 percent of the shots against her – the best rate in the WIAC.

UW-Oshkosh used a second-half goal from Chelsea Kierszh to top UW-Stout, 1-0, on Sept. 21.
