Titans Continue Winning Trend

UW-Oshkosh used a 22-10 advantage in shots, including goals by three different players, to defeat the Concordia University Wisconsin women's soccer team, 3-1, on Monday (Oct. 14) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. It was the sixth straight win for the Titans, who have lost only once in their last 10 matches.

Anna Beckerleg scored the decisive goal for UW-Oshkosh (9-5-1) on a six-yard kick during the 36th minute (35:17) of play. The goal came after she collected the rebound of her own missed shot.

UW-Oshkosh then sealed the victory on a goal by Robyn Elliott with 2:28 (87:32) remaining. The 15-yard kick marked Elliott's third straight match with a goal.

Megan White put UW-Oshkosh in front early when she scored just 7:24 into play. Elliott and Amanda Baalke assisted her two-yard tap into the net.

Concordia University Wisconsin (7-6) created a 1-1 tie when Brittany Klumpp scored in the 27th minute (26:56). Abigail Freeland was credited with the assist on Klumpp's six-yard shot.

UW-Oshkosh's shot count featured four each from Baalke, White and Christina Mauthe. Concordia University Wisconsin was led by the three shots from Gabrielle Ulik and the two from Klumpp. The Titans had a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Both teams split their goalkeeping duties. Katie Berkopec played the first half and saved two shots for UW-Oshkosh, while Nina Muzi played the second period and saved three. Concordia University Wisconsin had Ariana Worthing save six shots during her first-half play and Alyssa Schmitt two during her second-half action.

It was the 13th meeting between the teams, with UW-Oshkosh now owning an 11-1-1 advantage in the series.

UW-Oshkosh's next competition is Saturday (Oct. 19) at UW-La Crosse.
